Ben Wright International Challenge Cup Raises Approximately $340,000!
Mobile Meals of Spartanburg wishes to extend our most sincere appreciation to all of the companies and individuals who helped make the 14th Annual Ben Wright International Challenge Cup a success despite the current economic climate!
34th Assault on Mt. Mitchell and 16th Assault on Marion
The 34th Assault on Mt. Mitchell and 16th assault on Marion took place on May 18, 2009. There were approximately 1,400 cyclist that left the starting line at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. The tour is 74 miles to Marion and 102 miles to Mt. Mitchell. Riders who complete the ride to the top of Mt. Mitchell have the honor of saying that they rode to the highest point east of the Mississippi River.
This was the first year of a charitable partnership between The Spartanburg Freewheelers, The Assault on Mt Mitchell Committee and Mobile Meals of Spartanburg. This partnership will allow both organizations to benefit from the event. Funds raised through the 34th annual event will help pay expenses for the event as well as help Mobile Meals feed our hungry neighbors.
