Congratulations to Award Winners

Congratulations to Maxine Nash and Joan Gibson.  Maxine and Joan were honored during the Circle of Angels dinner on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD

This year’s John Coleman Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Maxine Nash. Maxine began delivering meals to recipients 30 years ago. She served multiple terms on the Mobile Meals Board of Directors. Mobile Meals is grateful to her and Doug for faithfully supporting the ministry through campaigns and annual giving. Maxine is a volunteer who goes above and beyond for meal recipients on her delivery route #30 in Cowpens. Maxine has a huge heart for seniors and graciously bought Christmas gifts for those on her route. Her gifts were always anonymous and someone else delivered the packages. Maxine who is retiring from delivering routes has impacted many lives over 30 years and delivered more than 7,000 meals through the years. Maxine will always have a place at Mobile Meals and we will miss seeing her each week. Maxine has two beautiful daughters, two wonderful sons-in-law and 4 grandchildren.

PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR AWARD

This year’s Jack Robinson Individual Philanthropist of the Year Award is presented to Joan Gibson. Joan Gibson was honored because of her willingness to support Mobile Meals in a great way through the Harry Gibson Family Foundation and personally for 47 years. Joan and her late husband Harry Gibson became friends of ours through Young Life before Mobile Meals began. Joan and Harry delivered meals to recipients up until Harry’s passing. She has served on the Board of Directors for Mobile Meals, recruited donors for a Summit Hill’s dinner benefiting Mobile Meals, she attends events and is a sponsor for most of our fundraisers. She has humbly supported this ministry from the beginning. Joan’s compassion for feeding the recipients and the success of Mobile
Meals is unwavering. We could never thank her enough for her support and love for Mobile Meals.
